Knee joint pain can occur at any age. Old age doesn’t mean it has to come. If knee joint pain occurs, there is no need to immediately undergo joint replacement surgery just because it is due to wear and tear of the joint. Instead, pain relief can be achieved through a new medical technology, ‘Joint Preservation Surgery’.
If the joint wears, it will cause pain. It cannot be said that everyone who has pain has worn out the joint. There are many causes of pain. Being overweight can also wear out the knee joint. Pain can also be caused by trauma from a fall, inflammation, or infection.
Unexpected pain should be checked for any of these factors rather than joint wear and tear. In the knee joint, there is a tissue called ‘meniscus’. It is the tissue that protects the joints from wear and tear. As we age, this tissue is more likely to tear and pull away, causing the joints to rub against each other and cause pain.
Repairing the damage to the jaw will relieve the pain.
Joint replacement surgery can be done when the knee joint is completely worn out and cannot be cured by any injection or medication. Before that, the joint preservation method, which is a separate section of the ‘orthoscopy’ method, should pass the camera through the porous hole called ‘key hole’ and see what the problem is. If the tissue is damaged or torn, the pain will improve when it is repaired. Usually the meniscus is torn away from the root area. If you keep it in the old position, the pain will decrease and you will be able to function normally.
Some people may have sores and bruises. This can be corrected by injecting stem cells. Just as joint replacement surgery is not for everyone with knee pain, stem cell therapy is not for everyone.
With the advent of this new technology, the need for joint replacement surgery has decreased.
Until a few years ago, joint replacement surgery was the only solution, regardless of the degree of damage – 20, 40, 60, 90 percent.
